Who we are

We are Westerkade Maternity Care, the only maternity care agency in the Utrecht region that was established by a midwifery practice. By combining midwifery care and maternity care, you will experience a single team of care providers throughout the entire period from pregnancy to childbirth. Our maternity nurses provide high-quality care thanks to their thorough training and experience, but also because of their close collaboration with the midwives. Because we share the same vision as maternity nurses and midwives, there is no confusing or conflicting advice during the postnatal period. This brings peace of mind and confidence.

Our maternity nurses work in the southern Utrecht region and usually travel by bicycle, which allows us to easily reach everyone in the city.

It is preferable to have one maternity nurse at your home. However, we often choose to switch personnel. Sometimes due to staffing and logistics, sometimes because it is beneficial to utilise the expertise of another maternity nurse. Because we are a small team and work closely together, changing faces can actually strengthen each other. Everyone has their own expertise and strengths that we want all our maternity families to benefit from. So, when planning, we look for the best match across the maternity days!

Our goal with every family is to work towards the moment when you can start parenting with confidence and a feasible daily routine.
